What’s new with the Varmilo VA68M V2

VA68M Version 2 – Varmilo is back again with a revision of the VA68M. This time, the VA68M V2 uses anodized aluminium alloy rather than painted aluminium for its cases. There’s now also the option for black, which I think is stunning!
Rather than painted aluminium, anodized aluminium means the VA68M V2’s color is part of the metal, it can’t be scarped off without removing the aluminium. The process of anodizing makes the aluminium more durable, corrosion-resistant, and allows for coloring. You can learn about anodizing here.
Currently, the VA68M V2 only works via cable, however, Varmilo has said that they might consider doing a wireless model. Is anyone keen to generate some hype for this keyboard?
Note: ANSI and ISO layouts are available.
Business as usual
Apart from the on-the-fly OS compatibility, the anodized aluminium case, and the black color option the VA68M V2 is pretty much the same. Dye-sub PBT keycaps, Cherry MX or Gateron switches, and lack non-programmable. It’s a shame the second iteration of such a well-built keyboard is still non-programmable. Hopefully in the future with the wireless versions, these keyboards have this feature.
What the left-hand side of the VA68M V2 looks like
Availability VA68M V2 stock is yet to hit online retailers. Those of you who can’t wait for that can start emailing Varmilo’s sales rep to arrange your order. Otherwise, keep your eyes peeled, and I’ll update you once I have some more news.
